History

Twenty five years ago today Boys who studied in girls' schools in Ratnapura city could not receive their education from grade onwards in those schools so the necessity of a new school arose. In order to achieve those objectives the Sabaragamuwa provincial council at that time selected a place closest to the provincial Council. The foundation stone was replaced by Mr. Saliya Mathew the governor of Sabaragamuwa province in 1994. Two years later the prince Collage was born under the medium term investment plan of the sabaragamuwa provincial council the Collage was opened to Boys by Mr.C.N. Saliya, W.Mathew at the auspicious moment of 10.15 on 10th of May 1996.

The first students was admitted to the school at 10.15 a.m. That auspicious work was done by  sabaragamuwa provincial council chief Minister H.R. Jayathilaka podi Nilame. And at the same time District parliament Mp W.D.J. Mr. Senaviratne also joined this occasion. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry A.A Wijethunga also.

Thus the prince Collage was started with seventy students. This was originally intended to hold grades 6-    11. Boys and girls also came to study in the school at that time. This great work was started with one        building and 4 1/2 acres of land had been allocated to the school by the provincial council.
